Biography
Sunny Chung Lapera is an attorney at Everett Dorey, specializing in complex high exposure litigation, including catastrophic injury, toxic tort, employment law, premises liability and product liability. Sunny has experience at all stages of litigation, from pre-litigation risk management, alternative dispute resolution, trial and appellate work.
Throughout her legal career, she has managed a diverse caseload involving litigation in both state and federal courts, including class actions and other complex matters. She has also successfully secured a defense verdict on behalf of her client.
Sunny earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she served as Executive Editor of the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal. She received the 2019 Hartford County Bar Association Scholarship and CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Lawyering and Taxation of Native Americans. During law school, she was also a member of the Dean’s Council and the Asylum and Human Rights Clinic, studied at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, and served as President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.
Sunny obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Los Angeles.
She is proficient in both written and spoken Korean.
