Santa Ana, CA - In a highly publicized alleged employee whistleblower case filed by former records manager Rita Ramirez against the City of Santa Ana (Case No. 30-2022-01287702-CU-OE-NJC, Orange County Superior Court), after a seven week jury trial, Orange County Superior Court Judge Nathan Vu orders Judgment for Santa Ana.
Recently, Everett Dorey hosted a professional clothing drive benefiting Working Wardrobes. Through the generosity of our team, our families, and our friends, we were able to collect clothing and accessories that will help individuals throughout Southern California prepare for interviews, return to the workforce, and advance their careers.

Congratulations to Everett Dorey attorneys Christopher Lee and Patrick Albasha! Everett Dorey was retained by the client to handle the case after three years of litigation with another firm. After limited discovery, Everett Dorey filed a motion for summary judgment based on complex theories of special employment and workers compensation exclusive remedy. The motion was granted and judgment entered in favor of the client.

The Court of Appeal Affirms Judgment in Complex Employment Case filed against a major California City. In the contentious suit filed against the City, plaintiff claimed FEHA violations, including, “retaliation” and “wrongful termination”. Everett Dorey’s Motion for Summary Judgment was granted and the Appellate Court Affirmed.
Everett Dorey’s Stacy Douglas, Partner and Director of Diversity and Inclusion, will be joining panelists at the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC)’s 2026 Mid-Year Meeting in New Orleans, LA to speak on “Voir Dire to Verdict: The DEI Edge in Trial Practice.” She will be discussing how DEI awareness enhances trial advocacy through real-world examples, ethical analysis, and curated film/TV clips to help attendees learn how to integrate DEI principles into their litigation practice.
