Biography

Colin Morris is a Senior Associate at Everett Dorey, who works within the firm’s general liability, professional liability, and public entity defense practice areas, as well as the business litigation sector.

Colin has over six years of combined defense experience, representing medical, dental and design professionals in matters of alleged malpractice and other standard-of-care investigations and disputes. His experience further includes representing municipalities throughout central and southern California in general liability matters, as well as defending private mid-size employers against wage and hour, wrongful termination,. and sexual harassment/assault claims. Prior to practicing insurance and public entity defense, Colin spent several years early in his legal career at a large national firm working on behalf of investors in direct and class action securities litigation.

Colin is a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law. After earning invitations to the San Diego Law Review and San Diego International Law Journal, and being invited to Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society, Colin chose to focus his extracurricular efforts by participating in several appellate moot court and mock trial competitions. He has interned with the San Diego County Public Defender Office and later volunteered as a deputy district attorney pro tem for the San Diego County D.A. Office. Colin served briefly as a staff writer for USD’s monthly campus publication, Motions, and as a 3L helped found a new criminal law clinic with the aim of facilitating opportunities for USD law students to work through the San Diego chapter of the Innocence Project chapter, run through Cal Western SOL. During and after law school, Colin volunteered with Legal Aid Society of San Diego through its Domestic Violence and Unlawful Detainer clinics, and is a six-time recipient of the Wiley M. Manuel certificate for pro bono legal services.

Prior to law school, Colin spent two years studying civil engineering at the University of Southern California before completing his undergraduate studies at CU Boulder. Colin likes to travel back to Colorado in his spare time to hike, ski, raft, and camp. He also enjoys mountain biking the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona and wherever else that offers amazing views with a welcoming vibe.
